Pt cruise 2002 changed the 3motor mounts and the transmission out pit sensor still will not shift out of first gear

Shift solenoid problem , your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop an have it diagnosed . This is more then likely an electronic problem . Have diagnostic scan tool hooked up , check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

Question is contradictory. First you say won't shift out of first gear, then you say won't shift pst second. If the latter is correct, yes could be the 3-4 shift solenoid has failed.

In spite of what Firestone did it still sounds like you have a defective speed sensor. Other people have also had this problem and it was solved by replacing the speed sensor.

OK... brains are expensive. It sounds like your PT STARTS OK, but keeps your TRANSMISSION locked.

Many transmissions have a 'lock' that is coupled to the car BRAKES. So the transmission may not allow SHIFTING if the BRAKE SWITCH is not sensed as 'brakes applied'.

APPLIED BRAKES = OK TO START/SHIFT. So it's possible a defective switch is your problem?

And there is this: "You Probably have a 604 41 TE auto trans (this is a four speed automatic trans)and if this is the case. Then you need to have the input and the output turbine sensor's replaced,(aka speed sensor) same thing different name. These sensors are cheap and have a high failure rate due to high temps the trans produces."

the 2nd & 3rd gear solenoid needs replacing. It is mounted by the trans filter inside the trans pan

Your transmission problem could be related to the TPS sensor. The TPS sensor indicated to the PCM when and what gear the transmission should be in. As for the Lucas and other additives to the transmission may be doing it more harm then good, As the transmission oil is thicker, the transmission line pressure increases. The PCM try's to compensate for that by letting the converter lock up clutch to slip and the fluid retention in the solenoid to change gears stick causing it to shudder between gear shifts. Recap, Check the TPS sensor readings and the Wire Harness. Look for loose connections and corrosion that may not be giving the proper readings to the ECM. Rescan the car for any DTC codes and most transmission chop can do that for you if your going to get it serviced there anyways. Have the transmission fluid flushed and filter changed, and have them do a transmission line pressure checked, there are additives out there to keep the fluid from foaming which is ok, but changing the fluid's weigh can cause transmission failure. you will need to replace your transmission, this is a very common problem with the ultradrive transmissions.

if you have added any fluid to the transmission chances are it was the wrong type.
