Carbon spark plug wires measure about 10,000 ohms per foot when in good condition and the resistance increases over time. Leads can still be quite functional with measurements of several times that figure though perhaps the lengthy leads should be replaced sooner rather than later when they become "tired".
Checking leads and knowing when to replace is not an exact science and a certain amount of caution is advised especially when many aftermarket replacements are of dubious quality and not very durable. OE leads are now very expensive which makes aftermarket leads relatively attractive. NGK replacement leads are considered very good.
I favour leads made from quality 8mm Hypalon with quality and substantial plug and distributor boots (though I usually have to accept 7mm leads) and I avoid silicone leads and pvc leads even though Bougicord was industry standard across Europe for many years.
Use an analogue meter for checking leads as the reading obtained is of slightly less important than how they read. Make a good connection at each end and flex the lead, wiggle it and tug it noting any fluctuation in the reading. Immediately replace any lead that produces a fluctuating reading.
Use a strong light to examine deep into the plug boots and discard any lead with evidence of black dust inside or corrosion of the terminal. Apply a spray or smear of a quality silicone grease to the inside of the plug boot before refitting.
The resistance of carbon core plug wires should be approximately 1000ohms/ per inch of wire. For example a 12" wire would be 12k ohms.
SOURCE: What weight oil should I use in my 1995 Toyota 4Runner V6?
The proper oil for your Toyota is API 'SG' or 'SH" 10 w 30. And yes, the climate does make a difference it the oil weight. If you drove it where the temp was 50degrees or lower, it would require 5 w 30.

YOU REMOVE THE 4 BOLTS BEFORE AND AFTER THE CAT.
ENSURE THE OLD INLET AND OUTLET GASKETS ARE REMOVED AND REPLACED BE FORE INSTALLING THE NEW CAT WITH NEW BOLTS.
ABOUT $800 FOR THE PART AND A HOURS LABOUR.

SOURCE: Replacing heater core in a 1995 Toyota 4Runner
The heater core is a small heat exchanger located inside the
truck, similar to the radiator at the front of the truck. Coolant is
circulated from the engine through the heater core and back to the
engine. The heater fan blows fresh, outside air through the heater core;
the air is heated and sent on to the interior of the truck. For Toyota Pick-ups/Land Cruiser/4Runner 1989-1996 check this reference repair guide...

Have alot of towels handy for the leakage of coolant that may spill into your interior.
CAUTION
When draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are
attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left
in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove
fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain coolant into a sealable
container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is
several years old.

Make sure that you steering wheel is not putting too much pressure on the lock. If your wheels are cramped it can make the key switch turn very hard. On one occasion, I had to hold the steering wheel with both hands and have someone else turn the key.
