Replaced the transmission transmission coolant line. I'm getting a hot fluid code. (post it) Replaced fly wheel. Computer. Tie rod ends Window regulator. Battery terminals and cables. Upper/lower hoses. Thermostat. I still don't have reliable car to get to work. IT has intermittent starting problems. Transmission codes (post it) Two misfire codes (post it) from oil in where spark plug goes and I take excellent care of it. i've spent $4700 in 6 months ive owned it and am frustrated.
Its the 3.2L DOHC, Vin (8th) code W.
W= 6vd1w (4 cams) DOHC
found out later... reading all your posts!
did you tuneup the engine first, spark and filters
New thermostat to end overheating engine and trans?
new cop boots on the cylinder well that flooded with oil? and a matching COP boot?
post DTCS? please post codes, the are always key to diagnosis and less labor and less gue$$ing on parts.'
if the engine overheats? , that is a fix that first thing!
after all if you let it, continue you risk warping the heads. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The transmission heat brain dtc ERROR, might get TCM BRAIN angry, but the heads warping are #1 worry here.
then misfire.
my guess is rad core TUBES blocked,?
or bad thermostat. OR EVEN RUSTED, OFF PUMP IMPELLER BLADES.
I haVE TESTS FOR BOTH, BUT TAKES A $15 TOOL.
i get engine hot , and scan it for temps.
If you had a scan tool
you could have looked at the live ECT Sensor data
it will show, 170f on this engine. live hot.
if its way up to 200 or more, its out of control and if that is true, the trans gets too hot too, as it MUST LIKE THIS.
Thermostats do not last 14 years.
sorry, but not.
but is easy to prove with any scan tool
or IR gun sold.
what DTC's
what is miles on car.? 50k , 500k what?
when was last tuneup.?? last decade?
when did the thermostat get changed, my guess, before you owned it.
did you repair the oil leak in the wells.
COP WELLS.
Did you check coolant temps of the engine carefully, I BET NOT.
