    Sounds like you have a linkage problem. Not too hard to fix. Check your linkages from underneath your gear box.

Common fault is usually the gear link in the gear box, the pin can break so the selector dont move.

Hi i jus bought a Mercedes Benz e 200 1992 model manual the owner said u lift the Nob to into reverse is it wil true because i normally know about pressing down coz i can't seem to get it
Both actions are used to select reverse on various makes of vehicle, have you tried seeing if there is a collar fitted just beneath the gear knob ? you normally have to lift the underside of the gear knob to get it into reverse

The manual gear shift will not move to reverse it is stuck in park? Mercedes Benz 2002 s class 500.... It is stuck in Park
Some times you could get them out of park by pounding on the top of the shifter while moving it out of park at the same time. You need a new shifter assembly. If it won't come out of park, they can drag it onto a flatbed.
