What will cause a burning smell coming from under the dash of a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question moved from Computers to Jeep Grand Cherokee

There is so much under there, it is impossible to tell. The most likely is a connector getting warm, but it could be so many things, even the radio, or the resistor on the heater blower.

Hey i have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee in my power windows are stuck open. i have replaced the circuit breaker but that did not fix the problem.

This happened with my '94 Grand Cherokee. I found it was a wiring issue in the door. If you look where the door connects to the body of the Jeep itself (while the door is open, of course) you will see a protective boot going from the side of the door to the side of the lower dash. In that protective boot, you will find a wiring harness with a **** load of wires (all color coded for convenience). You may find that you have some wires that have broken/shorted out in that wiring harness. We had to cut the protective boot off to access those wires so we could repair them. And then wrap the wires, once repaired, with electrical tape to protect them. The best part about this wiring harness is that it does come out. (It basically "plugs" into the door and into the lower side of the dash.) The bad part about this wiring harness is, that if you decide you want to replace it, a new one will cost about $350. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Is it difficult to replace the wiring harness coming from the computer?

The wiring harness coming from the computer is the entire engine harness wiring and it also leads to the dash and interior vehicle wiring; basically most of the Jeep's wiring is tied into the computer.

My sons jeep grand cheeokee started cutting out and then died i got it running and got it home put some fuel injertor cleaner in it then this morning it turned over but wouldnt fire. my other son put a new...

At the back of the engine in between the trans. and engine is a crank sensor. It's on the pass. side of the block. Follow the crank sensor wiring that runs under the engine to see if the harness is broken. If it's in good shape then replace the crank sensor.

Power windows won t work

There are broken wires in the wiring harness between the frame and your driver's side door. These wires control all the windows and door locks in a 95 Jeep. Same thing happened to me. You will have to cut the rubber boot to get it off and check which wires are broken and repair them.

MY 1995 GRAND CHEROKEE WINDOWS ARE MALFUNCTIONING"

I'm not sure what you mean by malfunctioning but, the 1995 Jeep has a sub-harness between the drivers door and body that bends everytime the door is used. As a result the wires in the harness start breaking causing window and lock problems. Pull back the rubber boot around the harness in the door jamb and tug lightly on individual wires to see if any are broken. They usually break near the center where the bend is. Hope this helps.
