I pulled my drain plug out and no fluids came out

There are two plugs on the drain pan. One drains it, the other is the overflow tube. Take the overflow tube plug out (usually the one in the middle of the pan) and pump Toyota Transmission fluid in, the extra will drain back out.

Don't use the wrong fluid, do it with it warmed up, and if it only has one plug in the transmission pan I was wrong and don't drain it by pulling the only plug out.

First off, locate the transmission dipstick in engine compartment, will be marked TRANS or something similar. CHeck tranmsmission fluid with transmission hot (after driving a while) engine running, in park on a level surface. The crosshatched area marked on the dipstick is the running range. The fluid amount from lowest point to highest point on dipstick is only one U.S. pint, so you won't be adding much fluid at any one time. In fact, only add a very little bit at a time, wipe off stick, re-insert and check again after waiting a couple minutes for fluid to drain down out of tube. Be very careful not to overfill your transmission, as seal / gasket damage will result.

Fluid is added through the dipstick tube with the use of a funnel. There is no other outside port to put fluid in an automatic transmission. Remember, pull stick, wipe off, re-insert stick fully, pull out stick and read level. Then add very small amounts as indicated, checking level by waiting for fluid to drain out of tube a couple minutes, insert stick, pull and wipe off, reinsert, pull and check....Mike

• The way to fill the manual transmission is fairly simple.
• There is a fill plug and a drain plug on the transmission. The fill is the top plug and the drain is the bottom plug. To fill them to proper capacity you simply pull the fill plug and and to it until the fluid just barely begins to seep out of the fill hole and then it's filled to capacity. Plug it back up and you are ready to go.
• If you pull the fill plug and THEN the drain plug and let the fluid drain all the way and then plug the drain hole back up and fill it as I explained above, that is a transmission fluid change. Doing that at home will save you $50 shop charge.

Manual transmissions have a fill plug and a drain plug on the side of the transmission. The fill plug is a little above the drain plug. Pull the fill plug and fill the transmission until the transmission fluid just barely seeps out and re-plug the transmission. That is the proper way to fill it. You will need a long stem funnel to give you the room you need to fill it. Your transmission requires a 10W30 weight motor oil, just like your engine. If you have a little time and 3 or 4 quarts of oil laying around you can pull the fill plug first and THEN the drain plug and let all the oil drain out. Then plug the transmission and re-fill it with fresh oil and this is a transmission flush for your transmission. You just saved $70 shop charge doing this. I say pull the fill plug first and THEN the drain plug because the last thing you want to do is pull the drain plug first and then find out the fill plug has welded itself and won't come out and now you can't fill the transmission. Fill plug first always.

This is for auto trans fluid change only....

1Rise the front end of the car and pull E-brake. (Please use a car stand to hold car up )

2.Remove trans drain plug let fluid drain out into a oil pan.
3.Once fluid has finish draining out, reinstall drain plug and lower the car down.
4. Remove the dipstick (yellow loop) from the transmission located on top and in the back of trans. You might have use a flashlight to see it. Dipstick is hard to see if this is the fist time you're looking for it.
5. use a funnel and add 3.1qt of ATF fluids.(auto trans fluids only)
6. Insert the dipstick into the transmission and you're done.
7.Go racing :)

There isn't a drain plug. You just remove the bolts. Try and remove all but a couple from one end and you can pull it down to drain. Keep in mind that it will be stuck to the gasket. You can make quite a mess if you don't know what you're doing.

No there is not a drain for the transmission. You will have to pull the trans pan to change the fluid. Good Luck.

no drain plug, no car or truck has had a drain plug for decades, reason? they want the filter changed with the fluid, so they make you pull the trans pan to drain the fluid, one very messy job.

This is how you do it.

Ensure that the transaxle case temperature is 70° to 90° F (21° to 32° C). With the engine running, shift transmission through all gears. With engine idling in PARK, remove the check plug from the transmission. If transmission has been overfilled, allow fluid to drain out. If no fluid drains out, add fluid through the TRANS FLUID fill cap under the hood on the driver side in 1 pint (0.5 liter) increments until it slightly flows from the check plug. Reinstall the check plug.

a transmission does not have a drain plug.... you have to pull the pan with the fluid in it.....
