Standard transmission five speed. I can push start the vehicle by popping the clutch and it starts up just fine. However when I turn the key it does nothing.

I don't think that remote start well work on manual transmissions
the clutch has to be pushed in . because there's a neutral safety switch in the vehicle from the factory. I know that Dodge and Hyundai and GM will not start unless the pedal is pushed down. They well have to bypass the neutral safety switch and it's kind of against the law the switch is there on automatic and manual transmissions so that they cant be started unless you have a foot on the brake and one on the clutch. We at the dealerships where I qorked absullty could not disarm the safety switches
clutches don't pump up unless there is air in the system. Check the slave cylinder for oil leaking. There may be a switch that has to be in the correct position to allow the system to start and unless you can activate it when the clutch is disengaged it will ne difficult to start. I would also check the battery with a load test as bad cells will not give a high enough crank speed to fire the engine
Sounds like the slave cylinder is needing bled out from air or fluid needs added also could be going out or this could be the pressure plate unlikely though if fluid is not your problem this may be. Look under the vehicle for fluid deposits or wetness also check the clutch reservoir to check its level this is where i would start.
Sounds like the neutral safety switch is going bad. Next time it does this to you with the engine off and the selector in neutral pop the clutch by pushing it down all the way then letting your foot slide off to the side so it's pops up and then see if you can start it. If this works you need to adjust the clutch and or replace the neutral safety switch on the transmission.
We were having problems with my son's 2004 Saturn Ion. The first thing that started flashing was the power steering warning, so fixed that by replacing the fuses. It kept flashing and then the coolant light came on and it wouldn't start. The battery was fine and well charged. We finally asked a friend who manages a vehicle service center for assistance. The Ion has a standard transmission and that was the problem. After only 15 minutes, they found the clutch switch was just a little loose. So they tightened it and the car popped right off and all the flashing warning lights disappeared. An easy fix but the car sat in our garage for 6 weeks as we couldn't find the solution!
that sounds like wiring or connection issue. I would firstly try getting a wiring schematic of the vehicles loom then find all the earth points and start by cleaning those and making sure there is clean and secure earth connections
sounds like your clutch safety switch, the switch that keeps the vehicle from starting unless clutch pedal is depressed, is not working.. the correct thing to do would be to buy a new one.. on the other hand cutting the wires and wiring them together will work just fine.. but keep in mind the vehicle will then start in gear with out pushing in the clutch pedal so use extra precaution when starting if you decide to take this route.. hope i could help
