The bendix is at the top of the starter. Pull the starter, remove the four bolt at the back of it. Pull the cap off the starter. remove the clip on the end and pull the bendix out.. Just a note.. they quit selling bendix and solenoids years ago.. Starter only, all or none.

Can anyone tell me which kind of cooling lubricant i have to use for a honda varadero xl1000. Year 1999.i think there should be a red and a green one,but which one is right, flemming,,,

It is more important that you clean the system with water or a flush and just use what you want. the TYPE is not as important.. I prefer the GREEN and convert many to the green,. The color ones are suppose to be an extended life, they are more corrosive than the Green and i hate DEXCOOL

Starter is broken. makes a loud csfscscshh sound instead of starting?

Make sure to check the flywheel when you remove the starter there may be flywheel damage and that would cause the same problem.

Starter issues

sounds like you have a bendix and ring gear problem, sounds like you have a starter bendix engagement and disengagement problem, drop starter and inspect the flywheel ring gear and starter drive gear (Bendix) .

Look for worn teeth on the flywheel it only will happen in one or two spots 180 degrees apart cause the motor always will stop in one two places... seen it a 1000 times...

My honda accord 1996 lx won't start

Your starter bendix isnt engaging, if your replace your starter your problem should go away. The rappid ( firing ) you are hearing is the starter spinning but the bendix isnt moving out and engaging the flywheel.
