2002 3.2tl now and then the car will cut off while driving when it does the green key light flashes when i get it stopped it wont go in park after a few minutes itll go in park and crank and run fine

leave car in run position till light stops flashing takes mine around ten minutes when stops turn key all the way off then should start right up happens to a lot of GM vehicles and mine does it all the time

Bad news....if you ran low on oil, the car likely sustained engine damage and will need major engine repair/replacement.

A mechanic can determine the exact issue.

possable bad brake lite switch. also check fuses.

Look under the dash by the parking brake and try to see if any wires are being moved or chafed by the parking brake linkages. That is what I have found in the past.

The steering wheel will not "lock" until you turn it about 45 degrees from center...this is normal. If your security light is flashing, there is a problem with your security system that is keeping you from starting the engine. Try this: Set the parking brake. Turn the ignition to the "RUN" position and wait about 10 minutes for the security light to stop flashing. When the light stops flashing, crank the engine without turning the key to the off position. If it starts, take the vehicle to get the security system checked. If it doesn't start, tow it. You probably need a new PassKey sensor.

You need to reset the theft system. To do this, try to start it. It should start and die. Then after it dies and the theft light is flashing, leave the key on for 10 minutes. After 10 min, the theft light should go out. After the theft light goes out, turn off the key. Count to 5, then restart it. Then it should work.

Does the security light flashing after it dies? Will it stay running if you keep your foot on the gas?

Do you check for codes every time you have a problem?
You know it isn't temperature related.
You know that pressing the gas pedal won't change computer input under certain conditions
How do you know you have fuel pressure? Do you drive with a gauge taped to the windshield?
Why didn't the shop repair it?
I would get a wiring diagram and check all grounds
Then scan the Throttle Position Sensor. As in, put a scanner or oscilloscope or volt meter on it.
Go through the entire system until you resolve it

All I can tell you is that the green light indicates your overdrive. It usually only lights up when it is turned off. There should be a green button on your shifter right under the button you press in to shift (say, from park to drive).
