My 2004 Volvo s80 2.9L just had a check engine light come up and the faulty codes are P2177 and P2179. please help me understand what does this mean?

Sounds like you need new oxygen sensors.
Suggest take your vehicle to Autozone parts and have them test your engine codes. They do this for free.
They will tell you what you need to replace and more than likely they will have the parts in stock.

How to fix my volvo p2179 code

code p 2179 refers to system too lean off idle bank2===causes ---fuel pressure --injectors ---intake leak
also refers to adaptive heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) control--bank 2---signal high===causes ---wiring ---short to positive --HO2S --ECM
at this point I would be focusing the attention on the HO2S sensor and it's wiring
the HO2S reports on the exhaust gas composition to the ECM so that fuel /air settings can be adjusted to maintain the gas composition within set parameters
if those parameters cannot be maintained then the ECM goes a bit funny in trying to adjust injector fuel settings , fuel pressure regulator settings ( if electronic controlled ) and MAF settings

P2179 is on in my 2008 Buick enclave and 3.6 and stabilitrack light is on also.

This code refers to a lean condition on cylinder bank 2. The stabilitrac will disable on most vehicles if the check engine light comes on. You may have a vacuum leak from one of the hoses causing this code. Clearing the codes should put stabilitrac back in service.

1998 volvo s70 runs rough after tune up

Could be, but you will need to check for trouble codes, since the engine light came on. The code or codes may help you troubleshoot it.

P2197 p2187 p2177 p2195 p2179 p2189

P2197 - Oxygen Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Lean Bank 2 Sensor 1
P2187 - System Too Lean At Idle Bank 1
P2177 - System Too Lean Off Idle Bank 1
P2195 - Oxygen Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Lean Bank 1 Sensor 1
P2179 - System Too Lean Off Idle Bank 2

I am not sure what your Mazda is, but from the sounds of it, both of your Oxygen Sensors are shot. Replace them both, or check for vacuum leaks. It may be a good time to inspect and replace the PCV Valve and PCV Valve hose, too.

Well what model is your Volvo? Usually the 141 code is the oil temp sensor but it depends on the model.
