Had head gasket, timing chain, tensioners, vvt solenoid, cam sensor replaced. I am 100 percent sure the timing is dead on. The car will give a p0011 code every morning I can clear the code and the car runs fine for the rest of the day. I do have a throttle body issue that I will be correcting later and I'm wondering if the bad throttle body could be the issue.
More often than not it is the crank sensor that is causing the issue. If you don't think that is the issue and you know when the check engine light comes on than it is time to scope the crank and cam signals to see what the cam is doing. If the cam is not reacting correctly than there could be an issue with oil pressure getting to the cam solenoid or getting to the phaser. If that's the case the only fix is to replace the engine.
