How do I take ignition tumbler out of 1987 jaguar?

if its the correct key for your car and its not working try a spare if you have one. check the condition of the teeth on the key it maybe worn out or bent. it could also be the key tumbler that is worn and needs replacing. does your key chain weigh a lot that is more than the weight of say just 4 keys if so this may have caused the tumblers to were out.

If you have the key no problem but without the key you will need to change the entire steering lock assembly

Look on the bottom of the housing, use a high speed 3/16 drill bit.

The radio has a yellow wire that goes to a constant hot.This is for your memory and clock. you need to hook it up to your fuse box battery side.

tumblers sticking inside lock. Try a small burst of WD 40. Very little.
the tumblers have tiny springs that apply pressure to the tumbler

I think your thumbler is shorting and blowing the fuse..; replace the tumbler..

your ignition is wired to the tumbler.. if thats shorting it will explain your issues.

tumblers inside key cylinder are either stuck or broken, replace ignition key cylinder

tumbler inside mite be wore out, did you change ignition switch
