Audi a4 2.0 lt 2006 engine cranks but wont start . started this morning no problem . half an hour later no start . no warning lights on dash

cranks fast or does not crank fast
it must crank to start so cranking is first see?
battery lugs ,rust free and tight? main bat.
no year car told. 1996 to 2012. (a3)
no engine told ,gas/petrol /diesel
engine stalled, (stalls have 50 causes)\
no cranks have 6. causes
not told what failed. (is starter motor silent) cranking/

Check spark plugs and coilpack... If not that check fuel pump

Would begin by replacing car battery and if it starts, check for codes. If no scan tool available, drive to closest auto parts store that can check this at no charge.

check all wire connectors for water ingress and tight. check that the snow has not allowed mud to get any where to hinder correct operation

If the engine will not crank over with the starter then have the battery and starter tested first and then go from there. If the theft system is the problem you will have a warning light on in the dash or a message on alerting you to the problem in the anti theft system.

Been a mech for a while, may need a tune up if all original, plugs, wires at the least. Originals are usually good for 100,000 or so. Hope this helps.

chek the wires

on both a 7.3l and 6.0l oil pressure is everything. Both engines use two oil pumps one for lubrication and one to fire the injectors. if your high pressure oil pump (inj pump) is weak it will take a long time for the truck to start. In order for the ficm to fire the injectors it wants to see at least 250 - 400 psi of ICP pressure. you will need a scanner to determine your high oil pressure at crank. Let me know how you make out.
