Appears to be passenger side under the dash, #2 in the picture.
Do you know where the right hand instrument fuse block is ? Position N . Also there is a fuel pump control module .
When the ignition is first turned On, the PCM energizes the fuel pump relay which applies power to the fuel pump control module. Based on engine fuel demand, the PCM sends a signal to the fuel pump control module to change the fuel pump control module voltage output. The fuel pump will then pressurize the fuel system. The fuel pump relay will remain On as long as the engine is running or cranking and the PCM is receiving reference pulses. If no reference pulses are present the PCM de-energizes the fuel pump relay within two seconds after the ignition is turned On, or the engine is stopped. During high engine load situations, the PCM commands the fuel pump to run at high speed. Refer to Fuel Pump Electrical Circuit Diagnosis for further description and diagnosis of the fuel pump electrical circuit.

Your vehicle's fuel pump relay is located on the relay center, behind the glove box, 2nd column of relays, 2nd one from the top.

You should be able to replace the fuel pump through the trunk. Beneath the carpet in the trunk should be an access panel. Once you remove that panel, all the electrical connections and fuel lines can be disconnected. Remember to disconnect the negative battery cable prior to service, and to take necessary precautions in regards to fuel spillage that may occur. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: IS THERE A FUEL PUMP FUSE V 6 1997 BUICK LESABRE
Yes, it is usually 25 amp (Yellow). There is also, a relay for the pump. Most of the fuses are under the dash...you can check your owners manual to see exactly where the fuse panel is located. The relays are under the hood. If the relay is working properly, you will feel a clicking motion while letting someone else turn the ignition on, but don't attempt to turn it to start the engine since this will cover the noise that you are listening for. If you need to know which relay is for the fuel pump, you can ask at the Auto store. They should be able to help. If the relay isn't clicking, you can tap it lightly with a screwdriver handle to get it to work; however, if the pump isn't running and is original; it is most likely bad and some test needs to be done to confirm that before taking the pump out.
