I would imagine the recommended oil is 5w-30. 20w-50 is too thick.

My digital dash oil lvl is reading at 16% what does that stand for? 2006 Chevrolet cobalt LT coupe

Hello. What that means is that only 16% of your car's oil life remains before you should get an oil change. This is a better method of knowing when to change the oil than the old fashioned rule of thumb of merely changing the oil every 3,000 miles.
When you do have the oil changes, the counter can be reset back to 100%. If you have your oil changed at a garage, they will reset the counter for you. otherwise look in the owner manual for the instructions on how to reset the counter. regards, Joe

My oil pan is cracked and I want to know if I have to remove the engine to change this.

If you can see and get to all of the bolts which hold the oil pan to the bottom of the engine and if it appears obvious that the oil pan can be removed without being blocked by anything else, then you don't have to remove the engine. Come to think of it, I don't think that I have ever seen a car where you had to remove the engine in order to remove the oil pan.

Gas Guage

Sounds like a faulty sending unit... or a loose/ damaged wire.
The gas doesnt touch the unit, so the gas is not the problem... only coincedence.
