o my word if you got petrol and spark it sould start,but if you jump start it you might blow the computor

you need to replace the canister purge valve located on the engine. it is stuck open and fills the intake manifold with vapors and causes it to flood at first

May have ruined the fuel pump

Have you not listened for the pump
& checked fuel pressure?

i would change all the air filter(s) and valve filters on the engine. make sure none of these are clogged-hoses and such. bad air flow will cause this type of problem.

Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch.

Sounds like it could be a bad belt.. Have them inspected..

It is probably the alternator. I have had alternator's that were bad test good. If the alternator is not fully charging the battery than you will continue to have the issue. I think it is best to go ahead and change the alternator.

I am assuming you would want to know the placement of the fuel filter. It actually depends if your Elentra is a Sedan or Wagon.
To my knowledge a 99 Hyundai Elentra has an inline fuel filter. It is located in the engine bay right against the firewall. It could either be on the driver side or the passenger side. It looks like a small canister with tubing connectors at the top and bottom. It is normally held by a clamp.. It maybe necessary to remove the air filter box to have easy access on removal of the fuel filter. It is a sound practice to relieve the fuel pressure prior to fuel filter removal.
