Why my transmission wants to down shift

I just had my transmission rebuilt now when u drive down the road it shifts good but when u let off of the gas for a few minutes an then give it gas again it makes a noise an acts like u are putting on the brakes

Take it back to the shop that did the rebuild and have it fixed proeprly

In my 95 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 just had the transmission rebuilt 3 weeks ago I was driving down the road and it shifted 1st to 2nd fine but from 2nd to 3rd it reved up all the way to 4500 rpms before...

That could be a perfect reason to take it back to the shop where it was just repaired for repeat service. Either that or you spun out in the mud.

Believe it or not, but the throttle position sensor as alot to do with the shifting. Also the range position sensor known as the neutral safety switch.

Check you transmission fluid for proper levels. If ok, have the transmission oil and filter changed!! If that doesnt remedy the issue, its possible the transmission needs to be replaced or rebuilt!!

sounds like trans has gone bad, last service of filter and fluid? clogged screen or low/burnt fluid would effest but if clunking sounds like trans is shot

20 year old vacuum hoses are done. Replace all you can. The little plastic ones too. They control everything, transmission, computer, fuel, brakes, everything.

the transmission is loseing internal fluid pressure, its time for a rebuilt transmission. The A4ld that your explorer has is prone to trouble in this area. A good rebuilt transmission may cost at least $1700 dollars.
