Try disconnecting both battery teminals

only way i can think off to cut the power to the actuator

driving like that may have damaged the actuator or sensors and may need replacing to get you right againreversing polarity on the 4x4 actuator for 1997 fo - ad1f4ae5-d311-4058-a03e-f5141f70edc0.jpg

It only went far enough to stop, I always thought that there was a safety gadget that wouldn't allow it to even try to engage at that speed, basically friend was reaching for heater control and hit the 4x4 nob. Since it is my winter vehicle and i procrastinate, the battery has been dead for awhile, hopefully maybe the brain resets.

Wont shift into 4wd automatically or manually

I would say the shift actuator my have gone bad. You should check all your fuses for the four wheel drive system with a test light or voltmeter. If their all good see if you can get your hands on a scan tool to check for a code. A four wheel drive problem may not illuminate the check engine light but the computer may still store a code.

2002 Expedtion 4x4 light does not come on

There may be some loose whires going into your transfer case which will disable the 4x4 light, your speedometer, and cruise control. And if u were in 4wd when a wire became loose then it will stay in 4wd until fixed. Also check any vaccum lines not connected.

My ford expediton wont blow out hot ir at all..i change the heater core an its still the same problem.is there like sensores tat mess up over time?or wats the problem?

there is a Temperature Door and an Actuator that controls that door. I've also seen the knob crack, so make sure the knob is turning the temp control switch. I hop you didnt replace the core for no heat.

I have a 97 eddie bauer expedition how do i know if my blend door is the problem or the actuator i can turn the climate control knob to heat but when i turn it back to cold it stays on heat.

It is difficult to see the temperature door, try looking where the temp actuator is lower center of evap. case.(white) The door is black and on top of the actuator. Look for cracks and see if the actuator is moving. If it moves it is the door.

Had the very same problem . It is the actuator pod under the battery tray. You have to remove the battery and battery tray and it is located under it. 3 screwsand one vaccum line. Part is about 50$ at the parts house
