SOURCE: 95 saab 900 turb0 gauge cluster works intermetanly

I have this problem too and my new Saab mechanic told me that I would probably need a new instrument cluster. He said a brand new one costs $2500 but that he would order me a used one from a car that had fewer miles than mine as you can set them back but not forward. He both diagnosed and temporarily "fixed" the problem by slamming his hand really hard on the dash over the panel and all the lights and gauges immediately started working fine....for now. I haven't had the work done yet (I have a 1998 Saab 900S with 130K) so if anyone has any other ideas about this I would love to know what they are. This issue with the gauges and dash lights has been happening on and off for over a YEAR and this is the first time someone has had any idea what it is. I already had my ignition switched replaced so we know that's not what it was. THANKS

SOURCE: the blinkers and wipers and radio dont work

sounds like the accessory side of the ignition switch is not working. When the key is on run position the same wire that is hot coming out when the key is turned to accessory should be hot, along with the ignition wire that runs the engine. (hot meaning it has 12v)

2002 Jeep wrangler x. Hi my turn signals don't work.

nothing on dash means the whole IP cluster is dead.? (fuses)_
Fuses are first, repeat 3 times for effect.
front and rear turns dead or?
tell what does work all and does not,
telling just one thing bad, is not really usefull.
for sure power feed wise.
head lamps work and park?????? keyoff and on work.
horn works
brake lamps dead?
engine runs good.
I just sold my 2002 wrangler the last good real jeep it was, my bad selling it.
i have all jeep service manuals so easy to answer this 88 to 2010
on most cares I fix dead headlamps first it is hardwired to work at an any time and super simple if not DRL JUNK .

02 TJ jeeps (pure love)./
chapter 8w-52 'turns 'blinks, hazard]s
fuse 7 and 13 not blown
combo flasher not dead. 5 wires. and one pin is IGN, oops.
ign is fuse 13,oops, is it blown/
Hazards dead is same fuse and same InG fuse good.
IGN power comes form KEY switch page 8w-11
IGN switch wire BK-DG , 12vdc key on. if not fuse14 blown 20ams
and goes to the battery direct.
all fuses in the PDC must good, and now dead batteries
or its 4 cable logs ends, loose or rusty.
end.

fuse 10 and and F24 kills the cluster. and f15
fuse is 10 head lamps too and a CB breaker.
fuse 7 dead kills park /neutral switch ,

What fuse is for the lights on the dash for 4 wheel drive on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler X?

so the light is dead. 4wd
shoe drops, is 4wd dead?
that be first.
after all the light can just burn out and is useless anyway
what matters is does it work.

the fsm covers the wiring and all that.
TJ

http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/TJ/2005_TJ_FSM.pdf

this is it.
all 1600 page.s

did you do the lamp self test yet cluster test
http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/jeeps.html#cluster

if you read the schematic
you will see the Cluster is a stand alone display with the CAN-BUS network , so if the cluster test passes above , all this is good
the transfer case closes a switch. for 4wd
but the 4wd light is and execption, it is hard wired from the switch to the cluster, seen on page 729(pdf) of the chapter 8w wiring .
so if the self test passes
then the transmission is not getting in to 4wd or the switch is bad
that is why I asked, is 4wd working?

97 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl. Turn signals, headlights, parking lights, tail and brake lights, and instrument panel are all out. Only interior light above brake pedal is working. Engine will start.

i think you ment IP cluster backlights dead not warning ligts
that is real the huge parking light structures.
a blown fuse. it is, why not test them ? first.

either cab fuse or the engine bay fuse box.
12vdc on both sides of fuse, is a good fuse, key on.
100% accurate test. no guessing. ever with voltmeter.
(rare exceptions a car with a ground fuse, very rare)
so lets do this the hard way, no fuse tests......

but hark the fsm is free. why not just look at the road map er, schematic, (wiring diagrams)
lets do HL , they are hot all the time, keys lost .

your car is a TJ so having a TJ book is spiffy , no? KEEN?
lets do that. TJ wiring

posted this 100 times,., here.

my guess is parks are dead High beams good, right, ?????
yes then go to JUMP 1.
HL dead highs and low beam? parks out.(aka TAIL)
PDF page # 92
fuse PDC #17 blown? kills cluster dead too
JUMP1: parks dead.
had lamps is fuse #1, jb (page 134 pdf)
then PDC fuse 4 and 10 (lows and highs)

PDC is engine bay box.
JB is cab box.

so my guess (hard way)
fuse 10 and CB 24 was blown. kills high/low beams
Fues1 and 4 only parks. and cluster dimmer feed.

page 134 makes all this childs play with a meter.
volt meter.

Crossed jumper cables on my 2001 ls430 and now the cluster, navigation, interior lights are not working.also the car starts but won't shift out of park.

You may have caused some serious electrical problems, this could get very costly. You can try disconnecting the battery cables from the battery and then hold them together for 5 mins to reset everything. Chances are you have corrupted the computers though.

2008 jeep wrangler JK-headlamps remain on, wipers working constantly, instrument cluster not working as well as the AC

I had the same problem with my 08 Wrangler, the forums I checked out suggested disconnecting the battery for ten min and then reconnecting. It was also suggested that it may be caused by a moisture problem (damp interior) so I sat a bucket of moisture-sorb on the floor overnight. After reconnecting the battery the problem was gone, try it and see if it works.

Gages speedo tac all quit. fuses are good 98 jeep wrangler. did it before but came back on. changed gage cluster still will not work

Have you checked it with a scan tool to be sure it is actually getting the information? The instrument cluster do go out, meaning the ribbon on the back.I would check the connection, then turn to a way to determine if it is recieving a signal from ECM.
