Step by step in how to do a oil change on a 93 190E Mercedes Benz

1) Warm up engine slightly 2) Remove drain plug from oil pan - oil drains into receptacle you have placed underneath it. 3) Allow oil to drain for a while 4) Remove the old oil filter and install a new one, being sure to lubricate any rubber seals with fresh oil prior to installation. 5) Re-install oil drain plug 6) Add 1/2 quart less than the total capacity of your oil as specified in your owner's manual 7) Run the car for a minute or two inspecting for leaks 8) Stop the engine, allow the engine to sit for approx 3 minutes 9) Check the oil level on the dipstick and add to the full line. 10) Take your old oil to be recycled

My 1992 190E(1.8) has recently been to 3 garages

You could have 2 problems. The hard start in the AM could be a bad fuel accumulator and or check valve in the fuel pump. The engine cutting out could be a bad idle stabilization valve, dirty throttle body and housing or a bad 02 sensor, could also be just a CO adjustment. Where are you located?
