neicie neici, No, this is not true. You can purchase a crankshaft sensor from any auto parts store. Just provide for them the year, make, model and engine size of your vehicle and they can provide a sensor for you. If you ask, they may tell you where it is located on the engine making replacement easier for you. I don't know why the mechanic told you this. Good luck with this.

Yes it is true. I would call a local independent shop and see if you could get a used one installed. This would cost about half the price.

Remove the seat assembly turn it upside down cables come off the handle you pull on to slide seat, Follow these cables to 2 pawls that pivot on tracks and see if they are broken,bent,or just stuck and need cleaned and lubed.If you need new track slider assembly I use to be able to get them all the time from GM parts department and just replace tracks themselves.

no if they did not get the pin right in the computer have them tow it back and redo the key fob and computer.

If I understand, the key will not rotate to all of the normal positions? If this is true, then I would guess that the trani didn't fully return to the park position please verify, You can check the ignition switch(the one that is half way down the steering column) for defects.
