How do i fix a stuck blend door on 2010 dodge nitro?

I would pull off the blend door actuator and swap it out with a new one. Or another option is to swap it out with one of the other actuators. The blend door actuator is interchangeable with the actuators for the mode-air doors and the recirculation-air door.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

If equipped, remove the silencer from below the driver side of the instrument panel.

Disconnect the wire harness connector from the blend door actuator located on the driver side of the air distribution housing.

Remove the two screws that secure the blend door actuator to the actuator mounting bracket and remove the actuator

Help 2005 chrysler pacifica heater and defroster blowing cold air.. was nice and hot 2 days ago....... fan showing

Your blend door actuator may have packed up. My manual says you have dual controls--true? If yes, is it cold on both sides?

Remove the silencer from beneath the driver side end of the instrument panel and take a look at the actuators. #4 and #6 are for the blend doors. Can you see if the little axle is rotating when you change the temp setting? If you can't tell, take one off and see if you can rotate the door by hand and get warm air to come out. If not, perhaps you have air in the cooling system. Check your coolant level and refill if needed. Then let's have a discussion about where your coolant may be leaking. OK?

My 2004 Avalanche ' heating system will not heat. No matter what the setting it either blows no air or cold air and it is 25 degrees outside so this is a problem. The engine is up to temp and I have tried...

The most likely cause is a failed blend door actuator; however I recommend a little troubleshooting. First, can you hear a clicking sound behind the dash when you turn the setting to hot? If yes, it is certainly the actuator stripping its gears. If not, check to make sure the heater hoses are both hot as they connect to the heater core at the firewall (in the engine compartment). If one or both of the hoses do not get hot, there is a blockage caused either by an air bubble or a stuck water control valve in the heater hose. If the hoses are both hot, the indication is again the blend door actuator.

Below are instructions for replacing the actuator. Look at the diagrams carefully--the big arrows point to the front of the truck and the actuator is on the side of the heater box above the outlet duct that runs to the driver's side of the floor. Also, the actuator is expensive, so I recommend you make sure it's bad and shop around a bit to get a good price. To check out the actuator, first see if you can turn the blend door by hand. If you can't turn it, maybe it's jammed. Also, reconnect the actuator after removing it and see what it does when you turn the heater to hot.

Heating system only blows out hot air through the vents

I would look at the air blend doors first, it sound like they are not working or your control in the dash is not working send a signal to them. they work by changing the air from hot to cold or in between.
