SOURCE: False security alarms on a 2000 Honda Accord EX

Hi,

A couple of ideas:

  • the primary concern is intermittent/false trigger of security alarm - check/clean/replace triggers mainly the door switches (faulty due to corrosion/rust, any constant rain lately? car wash?);
  • check key/remote for stuck buttons, damp/condensation underneath the rubber pads/keys;
  • disable original wire to the horn. Hardwire a new horn relay, new wire to the horn, new wire to the hurn button on steering. Even if alarm falsely triggers, horn would not sound off yet retaining use of the horn. Most competent auto electrican should be able to do this.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Honda accord 2000 ex i change spark plug cables cap rotor continue with emision problem when start running

Replace the PVC valve and clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, you can buy the MAF cleaner at any parts store and follow the instructions on the can. You may also want to buy a can of throttle body cleaner too to clean out the throttle body from carbon deposit, just follow the instructions on the can one again. Good luck and this should help you get your car running 100% again.

1994 Accord ex 5spd strarts fine and revs smoothly but jerks at constant speed (not when accelerating or decelerating). New airfilter and spark plugs, problem remains. thoughts?

It is probably your throttle position sensor on your throttle body. I motorcycle had that same problem. It was a recall. Maybe honda can help in that regard
