Sounds like a ground issue in you rear tail lamps. When the lights are not receiving proper ground, they will tend to do wonky things as they attempt to find a ground through other circuits.
Also, if the car happens to have a trailer hitch (yes, I have seen MG Midgets with trailer hitches, haha) then start by checking the wiring for the trailer circuit for wires shorted out against each other or otherwise damaged.

Replace the motor ! Test the electrical circuit ! Don't know anything about automotive electrical circuit ? Go on youtube an check out video on basic electrical trouble shooting , Also Voltage drop testing a circuit . How to read a wiring diagram . Then go to http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams . Test the circuit . Do a current draw test on the blower motor . You need a amp meter to do this test .

You can get one on Ebay, or just use MSN.com or Bing for "1967 MG Midget Wiring Diagram, and they show images of it you can copy! They are usually about $12.00 and up on Ebay!

AC drains?

It is the Magmetic clutch relay for your A/C - if your AC light is blinking and you have no AC change this relay - common problem in this model - to test the relay switch it with one of the other relays next to it and try the AC (the relays are ina black box on the drivers side under the hood behind the battery)

Check fuse on top of battery.
