DRL - day time running lamps , lets get this stright , When your daytime driving lights are on the dash lights go off . An it's daytime ? If it were night an the regular headlamps were on are the dash light's on then ? Becaused if the daytime running lamps are on an it's day time , why would the dash light's be on ? You wouldn't need the dash lights in day time light conditions . No problem !
A faulty daytime running light relay can cause this. I've seen cars parked and lights and horn start to go on and off. Like everything else as time goes by by drl's daytime running light relay and modules do go and need replaced.
some cars have daytime running lights that are very dim, but I would be checking system voltage while on look for 14.5 to 16 max volts then see if actual low beam circuit relay may be bad..repost findings..
The daytime running lights are on for safety. The engine light needs to have the error code extracted from the computer and then investigate that indication. The error code is not necessarily the cause or issue, but rather a clue.
The DRL light is lit when the daytime running lights are NOT lit. I just did a fix on my 2001 Accord thanks to this website: http://www.nyx.net/~smanley/hondadrlfix/
is usually caused by the diode for the daytime running lights goin bad,its located under the drivers side of the dash to the right of the steering column, its a square aluminum heat sink(usually black) about 3" wide with just a small 2 wire plug goin to it,hope this helps
I had the "service vehicle soon" light come twice with in 1 year. First the heald light bulbs were gone. Replaced the head light bulbs and after 2 starts the "service vehicle soon" light was gone.
The second time the DRL - #194 amber bulbs were gone. Replaced these and the "service vehicle soon" light was gone after 2 starts. The DRLs are housed in the headlamp housing, the tiny bulbs beside the head light.
