http://jeepdied.com/look/24hr/CMP-wonder.pdf
here they are.
all of them. V6.
sorry the V6s are not ALL the same.
not at all.
Hello Joaquin Cordova,
Apologies for the trash answer you received.
Bing search yielded a "back if the engine" note...
Please go to the URL highlighted at the bottom of this entry..
The location seems to be covered by a couple of hoses at the rear.
Check for prices at rockauto & Amazon...
You might be pleased.
Hmmmm...
3.2 V6 Engine: rockauto shows a different part than the one I found... It is ALSO PICTURED IN THE BING IMAGES
Hope this helps.

OMG, there really is a dingledick.
what a mean mom !
the OP forgot to read the manual
he skipped, all steps, 1 to 3, and tried #4
#4 is remove sensor
step 1, 2, 3 are how to get to it.
oops, RTM works again.
ban all books
RTFM... (battle scars to prove it)
it is amazing how good a real service manual is. step by step,,,, all there.
no guessing and BING BS.
Not really! I have veritable fortunes invested in REAL FACTORY manuals (and not a smudge in any of them) ... That's why I "usually" recommend "RTFM".
I keep my tools pretty too
(amateur mechanic, wood butcher & vintner).
((Professional radio & fiber optic)).
(((we've met before))).
I put COPIES in the grease.. but I'm a really old guy... my "F" isn't ever silent ... (if I were smart I'd bandage my knuckles BEFORE I start (but alas)).
By the way... I do admire/enjoy your answers!
Nice... VERY NICE work.
Approx age: I knew that (once upon a time) referred to WHEN you were certified at electronics...
About the same time I was playing with a Bendix G15 (wooh-whoo ... I think the 15 was for how many "K" memory it had)...
Still got seniority... just a couple of years (but they've all been "entertaining".
As to cyber-wisdom... I have my 80% & 90%
rules... but my memory fails me as to which is "plain BAD" & which is "just WRONG"...
Grinning back atcha..!!

Hey how weird is that, i am a MECHANIC and just fixed this VERY same issue 2day.
Testimonial: "i still need some help to fix this problem"
hat more do u need?
i am a MECHANIC and i fixed this. easy fix
my guess, is hubby asked wife to fix car
or asked here to google why car misfires.
then they read 1million rumors on CMP
then are H3ll bent on finding it.
who is
Testimonial:
"i still need some help to fix this problem"
who are you????
no problem stated, if you can read
the OP is doing an easter egg hunt.
"sensor is not where it suppose to be "
what problem,?
photos above show all v6 engines now.
with NO distributor.
if you have a distributor its in THERE.
in side,name is CMP.
the OP has no Distributor, at all.
sure its easy!
the PCM< told you 2 things, scanned
it's THERE! DTC errors for CMP.
and it's bad.
is this hard?
it will report 1 in 10 pulses dead. if you were to look. (means scan it)
then you opened the SM service manual
and see that here are 2 engines
and 2 very different CMP sensors planted
location are not the same on the 2 engines
2003, (VVT engine is not like the non VVT engine)
fact.

Please ask this as a new question. I've spent 1+1/2 days trying to get Fixya to get rid of dingledick. He is just doing this for attention and knows nothing about your problem.
Good work Vanguardian... I've been try to answer some of our clients... and flagging
you never stated a problem.
now what engine is there. sorry.
3.2 liters is not and engine, its a block.
there are 3 heads used.
no engine name state, did you know all engines have real names>
like 6vd1, 6vd1w and 6ve1. ? wow, a revelation.
no, not the back of the head.
sorry, its not a 6ve1,
the 6vd1 are on the INSIDE rear of head.
see that word INSIDE, that matters
see my photos of them all , all v6s...
all years.
but not the early years with DISTRIBUTORS.
the Distribs have the CMP then.,
then DIS was born.
distributorless, Ignition system and to present.
SUPPOSED IS WRONG, there is not just one engine used !!!!
No vin number stated with engine codes there.
failure 1: here...
the VVT engine has 2 rear of head sensors
the non VVT has one on the INSIDE LEFT HEAD
the key word here is LEFT and INSIDE.
not rear. not outside. but INSIDE>
if it is VVT engine its rear outside both HEADS
see them all here.
http://jeepdied.com/look/24hr/CMP-wonder...
the very early V6 had no CMP at all.
till 1996: (EPA law)
the CKP in the early engines run the whole show. it's crude but works,
then the EPA barks. mandates. (all cars usa)
the CMP sensors 96+ are in 2 places. on the v6
1x sensor, left rear inside of head, cmp
2x sensors on both heads rear (cmp)
wild GUE$$ing is not cheap, is it...
sorry , the CMP is not the common cause
if misfiring
there are like 10,000 post here for that.
misfires, not cmp.
the #1 reasons is.
not doing tuneups on time. and
1: not scanning it and seeing what cylinder misfires, yah think?
2: old cars, low compression. on cylinder that misfires. (called basics)
3: bad spark on cylinder that misfires,
Bad spark coil, or cop, "coil over plugs".
4: bad fueling on cylinder that misfires.
that be a clogged or leaking injector?
but you didnt scan it.
nor post if it's P0300 error, all cylinders misfire, in random order. is 300.
that be a horse of a different color,
for sure.
left means drivers side in USA .
