It may be the solenoid or even the relay,, check these first .or even dirty connection to the solenoid or a LT wire corroded and no power being sent to the solenoid

Got a weird starting problem with my Citroen berlingo van

Sound like it's starter motor at fault. With you saying it's after a long run there will be a lot of heat in the engine/gearbox this could be causing the starter to stick, like you say after half hour or more it's OK and short journeys you have no problem.

Citroen troubleshooting

well since the starter was only 2 months old i am betting its an ignition short. When u turn the key, the solenoid on the starter engages the bendix gear with the engines flywheel and then energizes the starter motor. And when u release the ignition the solenoid and the starter motor should de-energize. hope this helps you.

My berlingo will not start or turn over not even when being jumped got fully charged battery any ideas.

Sounds like the starter motor
1 Check the electrical cable to the starter has not come loose
2 hit the starter gently so as not to damage it with a hammer where it goes into the gearbox as it may be jammed.
3. Get a motoring organisation or an auto electrician to check the wiring.
4 last resort replace the starter.

06 plate citroen c2 wont start

If you check your engine fuse box and find that your 20amp fuse is blown its either a sticking starter relay or water getting in your electrics. Try checking this first as the fuse box is directly above wheel arch and can get damp. Clean up green contacts and keep a spare 20amp fuse handy. After changing this blown fuse you will need to reset the engine management system by disengaging the battery terminal. You're clocks might be out but car will now start. Don't forget to buy that starter relay if problem persists.
