Battery on 98 Ford Expedition doesn't hold charge

First thing I would do is have someone qualified disconnect the alarm and stereo and start over.
Chances are you have circuits cross-connected and something is draining the battery.

2004 ford expedition charging system failed?

Sounds like battery not holding charge. Or a light staying on, boot or glovebox? Most likely battery tho.

Battery light stays on - not charging. battery & alternator good.

latifrashed, Look for an inline fuse coming off the alternator wires. Ford sometimes uses a 20 amp fuse located under a cover on the firewall marked engine main fuse. Check the fuse and if blown then this should solve your problem. If there are fusible links involved then these will have to be checked as well. Good luck with this.

Why would battery light stay on light stay on after changing alt

Follow the batt + wire to a large fuse. there are two one for the starter one for the alternator they blow the fuse when the alternatror goes and this will cause the alternator not to charge.

The battery light on our expedition was on so we replaced the alternator and then the battery, and the new battery is still dying. What could be wrong? Thanks

YOU MAY HAVE A VOLTAGE DRAIN IF ALT LIGHT IS OUT NOW AND BATTERY DOESN'T HAVE A BAD CELL. TEST AT POSTS,SHOULD HAVE 14.1-14.4V CHARGING. MAKE SURE NO FUSABLE LINKS ARE BLOWN EITHER. GOOD LUCK!
