That button is called an "Inertia fuel pump shut off" it is triggered in an accident that has a force or 3 times the force of gravity (3g's). KIA doesn't use such a switch, that is Ford and Mazda who use this type of shut off.

Kia doesn't use a fuel cut off switch.

Kia has no such button. What you are referring to is an Inertia activated fuel pump shut off switch, it is only triggered by a rear end crash that exceeds 3 time as the force of gravity.

Hi going through a wiring schematic shows me that this car is not equipped with an inertia switch. There is simply a fuse, relay, engine control module, and the fuel pump in this wiring. This relay would be located on the right hand side of the dash. Here is an illustration showing the placemtn of the relay and the wiring.
The optima does not have a fuel pump reset switch, the fuel pump is controlled by a relay which is actuated by the engine control module...

THERE IS NO FUEL SAFETY SWITCH ON A 02 OPTIMA . IF YOUR HAVING TROUBLE GETTING IT TO START YHEY HAVE ISSUES WITH TIMING BELTS TAKING OUT THE CRANK SENSOR WHICH WILL KILL SPARK AND INJECTOR PULSE .
