Wjere is#3 coil pack on 96 camero? - 1996 Chevrolet Camaro

I use a wobbly extension, it allows movement to reach the awkward plug.

I looked info 96 Chrysler T&C 3.8L engine. Do you or don't you have primary voltage to coil pack? Your post seemed a little, ambiguous? At the coil pack, dark green wire with orange tracer should be hot engine cranking, use a test light. That voltage comes from asd relay. Your fuel injectors get the same voltage. I'm not saying the relay is faulty? Usually the computer has to see cam and crank sensor signals or it won't energize the asd relay. Any applicable trouble codes?

Your #3 cylinder is the middle one on the passenger side of the engine. Follow the spark plug wire to the coil

I would first replace the crankshaft position sensor. it is most likely the reason for the switching signal is not leaving the coil pack. unless the coil pack itself is bad. good luck

This trouble code could be 3 different possibilities...

Code 18 can be any of the following:

DTC 18 ABS Enable Relay Coil Circuit Shorted To Battery
DTC 18 Injector Circuit Malfuntion
DTC 18 Discriminating Sensor Interconnect Open (Supplemental Inflatable Restraints)

If 3800 engine the timing is 1-6-5-4-3-2
If 2.8L or 3.1L or 3.4L timing is 1-2-3-4-5-6

Coil packs on 3800 are (1 / 4, 5 / 2, 3 / 6)
Coil packs on 2.8L or 3.1L are (1 / 4, 6 / 3, 2 / 5) 1995 earlier across the front from right to left.
Coil packs on 3.4L are (5 / 2, 3 / 6, 4 / 1) 1996 across the back from right to left.

The park/neutral position switch prevents the car from being started when the transmission is in any gear other than Park or Neutral.. When the transmission is in Reverse (with the engine running), the switch completes the back-up light circuit, illuminating the back-up lights.

THE BOLT PATTERN SHOULD BE THE SAME, BE SURE TO CHECK THE WIDTH AND HEIGHT OF YOUR RIMS TO ENSURE FIT.

Check the Bolt Pattern. Some of the Newer Camaros Had 6 Lug Wheels. Your has 5.
