That error is an evaporative emissions control system leak. The most common cause is a bad gas cap. PCV valves have nothing to do with this. You need to locate the evaporative charcoal canister purge valve and check it.
it has done 48,000 klms per year which indicates that it is not a suburban car ( averages 20,000 klm /year)
That indicates that it is a commercial / travelling representative car or government car
you would be well advised to have it check by an auto club inspector (RACQ, NRMA , RACV or the state where you are) and get a comprehensive report

The adjustment is made at the handle under the console:
ADJUSTMENT OF PARKING BRAKE STROKE
1.Pull the brake lever with a force of approx. 196 N (20 kg, 44 lbs.) and check the number of clicks.
Parking brake lever stroke (Standard value) : 8 clicks
2.If the number of notches is not the standard value, adjust the cable length with the adjusting nut on the equalizer. 3.The indicator light will go out when the brake lever is fully released, and will light up with the lever pulled one notch. If it does not operate properly, replace it.
4.After the adjustment, check that the rear brakes do not drag with the parking brake lever released.
Year make and model? Timing being off will make compression be low. Opening to soon or late. If the timing is good, then spraying oil in the plugs holes and doing a compression check will tell you.
manually adjust tappets ,12th inlet and 15 exhaust will do it ,set by the rule of 9 ,no8 down and adjust no1 no7 down adjust no2 and so on so whatever your adjusting adds to 9
check the mas air flow sensor(is this the 6 cyl) the sensor has a problem with the nose piece inside not moving enough to tell the ecm the propper air flow for the cold start, also check throttle valve for dirt build up around it-if its a four cyl repost
you need to remove the valve cover and if they are even adjustable there will be locknuts on a stud on one side you need feeler gauges and adjust by loosenin the nut with cylinder in compression sequence tightrn stud with screw driver or allen wrench whichever applies put feeler guage probably.018 between rocker and vale tightrn untilfeeler gauges move with some resistance lock nut tight but be sure you can still move feeler gauge get all cylnders then reinstall valve cover
You cant adjust it. Your car has a tps sensor " throttle position sensor " and a iac idle air control. these are both on the throttle body. is the check engine light on? The best way to check them is on a scanner at places like auto zone they will let you use one for free. and will help you do it. first check the codes if any then look at live data scroll down till you see tps and look at its values rev the motor up and it should change values are 0% to 100% no throttle to full throttle. at idle it should be 18 to 26 or so. if it doesnt change or its at a high number and no gas is being given then its bad. also look at the iac and see if it changes as well. you can also google the resistence values for each and ohm them out. It does sound like a bad tps. try that first , and the tps is easy to change
