SOURCE: brake light, 2008 Nissan Sentra

Open the trunk and locate the trim door that covers the back of the drivers side tail light assembly. Open the door and locate the bulb holder. The bulb holder can be removed from the tail light assembly housing by turning counter clockwise 1/4 turn. Holding the bulb holder in one hand, press gently on the bulb and turn then bulb counter clockwise to remove. Replace with a combo bulb and reverse proceedure to re-install.

SOURCE: 1995 Nissan Sentra, The engine light and brake

You could have faulty altenator or short causing the battery to drain. The engine light usually comes on when anything electrical or sensor wise is faulty. Brake light will come on if, low brake fluid, e-brake handle is up.

I would check that spark plug, and have that coil checked or replaced. Also check for any vacuum hose leaks in the area of the cylinder.

Hi im rupert pls hlp my nissan 1400 bakie has brake problms its on the right side caliper its not releasing it builds up pressure and it does not release untill I bleed it

It sounds like you've probably got a seized caliper or piston. When the calipers are cold, check the sliders are moving easily. You might need to drop the brake pads out to check this. While the pads are removed try to carefully push the piston back into the caliper using a caliper tool. They should resist but will move.
If the caliper piston refuses to move it will need rebuilding or replacing.

WHY DO BRAKES GRAB BUT MOT RELEASE ALL THE WAY ON 2004 NISSAN TITAN

Which wheel(s) are not releasing? Could be debris in the wheel cylinder(s) partially blocking the return fluid (drum brakes) or a defective wheel cylinder or cylinders or even defective calipers (disc brakes).

Right Side Brakes keep holding and not releasing

Hi Tommy, I'm glad to help! There are only 5 things that can cause brakes to hold: (1) Calipers are sticking. NOTE: There are several reasons calipers stick, there are internally frozen meaning you need new calipers. Here's how to check them release the nut that holds the hose to the caliper when the fluid bleed out and the calipers do not release pressure from the brakes then they are internally frozen, replace them. (2) Hose's are calapsed internally. You check the hoses in the same way, release the bolt and if the calipers DO Release pressure from the brakes then you know it's the hoses. (3) The actual metal lines going to the back of the Vehicle could be damaged. Example: One time one of the rear brakes would not release pressure and I found where the line goes acroos the rear axle something had hit the line and smashed it flat and so it was holding brake pressure on the wheel. (4) Let's not forget how much dirt and grime builds up on the brakes themselves. Example: I found one time where the LANDS where the brake shoes slide were so dirty that the brake pad itself was stuck and holding the brake pressure on that wheel. (5) The Master Cylinder, not very often, but I have seen the ports in the master cylinder clog-up and will not bleed back to release brake pressure. This is a few thing for you to check out that will help you find the problem yourself and save you money. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Tommy.

Front wheel bearings were installed too tight, the wheel has zero play and the brake caliper will not release properly

When you say "the wheel bearings are too tight, & there is no play". Is this on the rotor, or axle hub? When you depress your brake pedal, a number of things are in play. The twin pistons, within the Brake master cylinder is pushing hydralic Brake fluid to your caliper, under extreme pressure. When your foot is removed from the pedal, all there is to get that caliper to release, is a clean, wrking piston in the caliper, & THE MOST Mis-Diagnosed problem I have noticed on all makes, brands & models, ever since the inception of disc brakes...........is those "flexible, high pressure brake hoses. As fluid is pushed thru at extreme pressure, & only returning spring, non piston pressure, a "deteriorated hose", will actually work as a one way "check" valve. It will set the caliper, but, not release it. The gop bad at about 75,000 miles & up, depending on conditons the vehicle is used in.

2000 sentra how to colapse rear brake calipers

Make your own tool using the old pads or 2 pieces of 10mm flat bar. Drill a hole in one of them(Drilling old pads is difficult - Theyre extremely hard). Flatbar is easier to drill. Weld a nut over the hole so that a bolt(should be about 80mm 2-3 inches) screwed into the nut will pass through the hole. Use as per diagram. Unscrewing the bolt will pry the caliper open. (Be sure to open the brake fluid reservoir.)
Making this will take you 10 minutes and cost next to nothing.
Dont go forcing the calipers with a screwdriver, wrenches, crowbars or other manner of strongarm tactics. :-p. It will damage the piston and/the caliper guide pins ccd07e1.jpg
