Can anyone tell me if there is a fuse behind the radio of a 1995 Jaguar XJ6? The radio has not worked for a long time and was wondering if it may be a fuse and would like to check. Problem is that it is tricky to remove and do not want to do it unless I know there is a fuse there. Cheers, Jaimie.

Follow your battery positive cable to the main conection. At the positive cable are other wires these other wires are fuse links. Give each one a good solid tug if broken enternal it will pull loose. Thats the one that is bad or you can try a 12 volt test light, and peirce the insulation along the wire till you find a break. I think you have blown one of these fuse links, if the wire inside can touch just enough it will power up the car but not enough to pull the starter.

Beside fuse and relay, there is FUSEIBLE LINK.
It's tap from the main battery cable.

Please go to this site to see all possible fuses and wiring.
http://www.englishparts.com/showassembly.aspx?ukey_product=2340&assembly=mgt-038c

10X 35 amp set are the 1st spot to check out.
Look for burn marks and melted insulation on the wiring.
Check fuseible link with ohm meter.

DO NOT reconnect battery until you are sure there is no more short or ground wire.

Try looking under the hood in the engine compartment. There is a small black plastic box that contains some relays and fuses.

1995 xj6 instrument light come on/off randomly

I had a 94 XJ6 - given the amount of wiring in the dash and under the hood, you may need a dealer for this.
The first thing I would look at is all of the ground connections.

Need to know location of the fuse for power antena for 95 jagur xj6

There is not a particular fuse for the radio that I have found. It seems that the Jaguar radio is specifically set to power the antenna. The installer should tell you what they did with the wire. If you told them the antenna was broken, or if they couldn't get it working, my bet is that they left the yellow, or blue antenna wire unhooked during installation. If you have a good antenna, and you have confirmed it, then the antenna should work when the radio is activated. That is the only solution other than the radio having an malfunction. You can check the 10 amp fuse on the back of the radio, but my bet is the antenna wire.

Thanks.

The radio has a yellow wire that goes to a constant hot. This is for your memory and clock. you need to hook it up to your fuse box battery side.

I have a 1996 jaguar and I just had the tansmission replaced. The starter has been tested and it is good, but when I turn the ignition I am not getting any power to the starter solenoid. The wire coming...

Its not in the wire that is coming from the battery to the starter. Its in your low current wire that comes from the ignition switch to the starter. That is the wire that probably has too much resistance. Replace that wire and your problem should be over.

1995 xj6 battery dead can't open trunk

Fairly easy way is to remove kick panel on passenger side rear seat.(one screw) There is a battery positive feed to the fuse panel there. Heavy guage red wire with a rubber cap covering the post. There is also a common body ground post in there.(double black wires) Just hook jumper cables up and go.
