The 04 SIERRA is behind a panel with 4 screws under the glove box...Remove the screws and cover and slide it out.There is actually 2 in there and it is easy once the cover is off.

Hello roesusie: My name is Roger and I will answer for you. In 2003 GMC did not put a cabin air filter in the 1500 or Denali trucks. There is no openings in the heater case for a filter. Some one would have to physically cut the heater case to install it. Sorry I could not give you the answer you wanted. Should you need further help please just ask. if they only stoped working on the passengers side I would check the wirring going into passengers side door for a broken wire, or right at the passengers side kick panel.
