SOURCE: what are the possible reasons for high fuel consumption?

a low cylinder will cause a reduction in fuel economy. also in the winter months many states oxygenate thier fuel, it helps with emmisions but reduces economy. higher octane fuel usually has less feul economy, drop to the mid grade

That is HUGE for a 1.3 L engine. I seriously think you must have a fuel leak somewhere.

SOURCE: over heating and high fuel

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action please check the following:

- Check if the radiator blower blows strong. If it blows weak then it can be the cause of overheating, you will need to replace the blower motor if that's the case.

- Check if the coolant sits on the proper level, if it doesn't then fill it up to the max level.

- Transmission fluid burnt. If the transmission fluid is burnt, the shifting will be slow which may result to stress to the engine, very good reason why it overheats and has poor mileage. You will need to replace the transmission fluid if that's the case.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Sportag 2001 120000 km - drink 6 km for 1 liter ? what i have to chek ? miko

If there is a serious loss of power, look at the exhaust manifold. There should be a flange where the exhaust expands out. This is the "pre cat" and has tendency to plug and create fuel consumption issues and power issues. What else is going on with it?

On the kia 2002 sportage i spent 15 Litres of fuel for 100KM is that normal?and can you tell me the normal Litres of gas foor 100KM on the kia 2002 sportage

That fuel consumption is a bit heavy, but not excessive, depending on the driving conditions. In heavy traffic and slow town driving with a lot of stop starts it would be acceptable but on the open road in 2 wheel mode it would be excessive. Kia do not seem to manage much better than about 8-10 l/100km, even on their sedans.

The problem is high consumption of fuel. The car starts good, runs well, but the fuel consumption is about 20 liters per 100 km in the city and about 15 liters per 100 km at highway. My suppositions...

Fuel injector are worn out they. Might be dribbling as a bigger engine it won't stall or flood it raises the idling making you feel it's power but consuming more fuel

High fuel consumption. only 200 miles per tank

it has gotta be the o2 sensor, map sensor, or the mass air flow meter.............. these are the main inputs to the computer that controls the fuel control....let me know how that works out please

My 2001 kia rio 1.3l consumes so much gas at about 9 kilometers per liter. I believe they can go upto 14-15 kph per liter. What should i do to minimize gas consumption?

You can over-inflate your tires by about 8%, use a K&N air filter, drive 15 kph slower on the highway, accelerate slowly and never accelerate uphill, draft behind larger vehicles, regular maintenance (oil changes, spark plugs, wires, filters), use a fuel system cleaner every oil change. These can increase your fuel economy drastically, but if you are still noticing poor fuel economy you should have the car checked by a mechanic for what might be causing the high fuel consumption.

i hope this helps
