Double check for clean/good connections at TP sensor, then disconnect battery for a minute or so, to erase codes, and see if anything changes.

HI

Since you have rebuilt the transmission it is suggested to replace the speed sensor, this is the cause that your car is stuck in limp mode.

Let us know if you want to know somethin more else accept the suggestion.

2001 pt cruiser stuck in 2nd gear and will only go 60kms

Sure will happen, second gear is the "limp " mode if the Tcm sees a problem with the tranny. Key on,off ,on,off,on will flash the codes with the check engine light. That will point you in the right direction.
Can't recall how to reset the limp mode, thinking it's key on engine off ,press gas to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. If a speed sensor goes bad they will do just that, many other problems will also tho. So check for codes first,if there are none it will flash a 55 .That is five flashes of the engine light then a pause then 5 more.

I have a 97 Sebring Convertible JX from Florida. I live in Canada. It is a great car. I do have water in the back, but have found the reason. It has approx. 115K miles on it. I hit an open sewer drain...

Knocking/ dragging feeling/worse when turning feeling it on driver side is most likely a bad cv joint/axle/wheel bearing on that side. Usually accompanied by a 'clicking' sound when turning wheel at low speed. This will produce a code 45 due to the drag on the transmission. Hope that helps.
