it is near the thermostat housing and has up to 4 wires attach to the plug
it is used to repot engine coolant temperature to the ECM so that air/fuel mixture can be adjusted and the fans switched on through a relay
don;t confuse it with a coolant temperature sender which has 1 wire and works the temp gauge

That means its not meeting the minimum thermostat regulating temp. Its saying that its not warming up.. If it feels like its as hot as usual. Its probably the temp, sensor.
the mass air flow is part of the throttle body assembly. its where the big air hose from the air filter hooks to on the motor. here is a picture to aid you. hope this helps
