Right window will not roll down..

I can not roll the window down with the master switch or the passenger switch. I unplugged the motor and hot wired the plug and got the window to roll down. So I know it is not my motor. Last time this happened on my 1999 Jeep cherokee sport I could roll the window down with the master switch. So it confuses me is it the passenger switch or the master or not a switch at all?

I have had to fix three out of four windows in the past month.of my 2004 jeep grand cherokee. I went from a semi cold environment to a really hot environment. I was told by Jeep, after the third time of course, that the wires had more play in the hot environment and had shorted out because jeep did not put correct housing over the wires next to the door. If you have the same problem put electrical tape around your working electric windows so it does not happen to your good windows.

Did you meter the wire at the master switch? If so and you have power the switch is bad, if not you have a short in the wire.

You can't put up the front passenger window with it's own switch ? Did you check the POWER WINDOW RELAY in the instrument panel fuse / relay box ? An you checked POWER fuse 30amp same fuse box ? All window switches have direct power from power window relay !

My power windows on 2003 Pontiac Vibe quit working.

If all other switches work then I would say it's your master switch but if not then you have a electrical problem.

Grounding problem with my power window motor on a 1997 chevy camero

Test the MASTER switch at the drivers side. It seems to be a "wiring problem with the Master switch. The master switch is the switch that controls ALL the cars windows.

The passenger window switch gets both power and ground from the master switch. You have replaced the passenger side switch and it still had the same result and if the wiring is good from the master switch to the passenger side switch, then the only thing left would be the power window master switch. Check all wiring of the Master switch. That's the only thing that's left to do.

Need to get a wiring diagram. Buy a book and follow the wiring schematic. It should help you out majorly. Can't really work on electrical issues without one.

Reverse your test light connector, connect it to power so you can check for ground at window motor, flip switch up or down should have ground at both wire's while flipping switch to up or down, more then likely your not going to have ground at the up position, do same test at harness before passenger door switch if no ground master switch bad.

Cant roll down windows from drivers door. i can roll down the passenger side window from that door but i cant roll down any other window.

The Master Switch may be bad. Thats the first thing to verify good or bad. It may be a big deal to find a wiring diagram and then verify where voltage is lost. All of the window power goes to the Master Switch,(through the lock out switch) then on to each window. Except for the right front window. The diagram is confusing, it does not appear that the lockout switch turns off the RF passenger window.

97 Accord drivers side window won't go up or down....

Window motors & regulators go bad every day. Pull your door panel, unplug the motor, if you have an ohm meter apply the leads to the leads into the motor. One will be ground the other two will raise and lower (reverse) the motor. If you show resistance between the leads the motor windings are good and the problem may be the window regulator. If you do not have an ohm meter, you can run two wires (one ground, the other hot) and test the motor by applying elec to it.
