Shut down completely while driving it..wouldn't restart immediately, but in a few minutes, could turn key on 7 start it....drove short distance & it died again. when help arrived, it started back up. drove about a block & it died again..he jump started it & I drove 3 or 4 blocks & it died again... jump would not work, so he wiggled fuses & relay & it started. drove a few more blocks to destination & parked it for about an hour & then started right up & drove home about 1 1/2 miles & parked. has started right up 3 or 4 times to move car, but afraid to drive it
Intermittents are sometimes hard to diagnose out !! and this seems as one , im curious though what made them wiggle the relays and fuses ?? was there a previous problem there ?? depending on year of manufacture of car , is weather or not the cars own pcu can help diagnose what made car stop , as later models "remember " what there last condition was that shut off engine , of course this requires diagnostic equipment to see this info that typically car owners don't own , but a qualified service tech does and knows how to use it to find your problem
Testimonial: "This had never happened before in the 3 yrs I have owned it. it is a 2008 volkswagon jetta Wolfsburg turbo 2.0 liter. I don't know why the AAA rescue mechanic checked fuses & relay, except he was pretty sure it was electrical. weather was not a factor, I don't think. Thank you for responding!!"
