If you disconnect the battery, you need to reset the security system. You need to find out why it didn't start when you came out of the store though, and for that you need an auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer.

Check the key switch.

can you check for 12vdc at the license plate connection? It may be more than just a fuse. Is there 12vdc at the power side of the fuse? This power supply issue may be related to the Emmission pump problem.

While I have not had this problem with my 2006 Pontiac Vibe, I had the same problem you describe on my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Unfortunately, the solution is to replace the module in the door panel. I was able to purchase the part at a much lower price on ebay than a dealership, about 1/4th the price. However I had a professional mechanic do the replacement because removing a door panel can be tricky to do without damaging it.

use a test light and check for power at the motor. if you have power then the motor is bad.

I would check the fuse to see if the circuit has power.

If your question is how to remove and replace a broken dipstick, have the oil pan pulled and have the broken piece pulled from the bottom of the pan. Then go to the above address and buy a new one. That is the most efficient and cheapest way to go.

take the negitive side battery termail off for 15min.s and then replace it back on it should reset it
