  • Malissa Dickerson Aug 05, 2016

Hi Derek Rivera, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? GL, LX, SHO? engine size? Are you just taking it out and getting a used tranny to go back in?

Where is the 1994 ford taurus shift solenoid located ?

Usually the forward drum inside the transmission has broken, so you only have first gear. You will need to either replace it, or have your transmission rebuilt

I have a 1994 ford taurus , It starts but will not move . is there a way to check the transmission.

You can eliminate anything that is not the transmission. Check your transmission fluid level, look at it's color, see if their are metal particles in it, smell it and see if it smells burnt. Was it doing anything unusual before not moving, slow acceleration, hesitating, increased RPMs?

Problem with automatic transmission

have a transmission tuneup performed which may solve the problem. also have them check for metal shavings in the pan. take filter off and replace filter which could solve your problem. also may need a shift kit on the valve body.
