we dont have KB pickups in USA< (this is a usa forum....)
nor do our book sources cover non USA cars.
so youd need to talk to persons in your unstated country
Africa or Australia?/? or?????
timing of cam, add the noun next time.. timing of what.?
and what engine, my guess is 2.5L but which one, there are 3.
and what year.
im sorry not all engines are the same. nor in all countries.
some even have 2 head designs. and cams and yes, timing.
on our cars the engine code is part of the VIN, number.
or the engine bay TAG has this fact a real engine name and code.
its a diesel right?
4JA1-L
this is the engine name of a new KB . as one example
to work on any engines, if you know the true name, you get
correct service data and correct parts.
all engines, any car, or truck , do not ask for engine data. lacking the real name and year.
I guess you do not know that OBD Codes have
nothing to do with replacing parts
The Codes are used along with the diagnostic
info & charts to check the system that set the codes
Only component testing will find a problem
You used the name of a codes to replace a part
with a similar name
I would guess you did no testing & have no idea why the
fault codes were set, so you found no problem, thus you
fixed nothing & the MIL Lamp is still on
You Cleared ALL DATA needed to help diagnose the issues
You lost your codes & freeze frame data at the time the codes
were set & your lost your emission monitor data
Now you get your codes & write them down
Google the codes & study the possible cause
& solutions
Codes you retrieve, are used to diagnose a vehicles
system that set the fault codes & then you component
test things, like a sensor, after looking at scan tool data
& road test, to run all emission monitors & look at lots of
data & freeze frame data at the time the DTC were set
If you remove battery cables or clear codes, you loose the
info needed to work on it & find the problem
Then you have to drive until the monitors run again & codes
come back
Parts are not replaced because you have a code that
sounds like the name of a sensor
Your replacing parts with no testing & not actually finding
any problem, failed sensor, etc,SO the issue is still there
if you follow the pipe does it go towards the transmission ? if so it's for the trans cooler. If not it will be the escape hose incase of overheating/to much pressure in the coolant system , if you go to a parts retailer like autozone they will have the part named on their data system , its a bit difficult without seeing vehicle to name parts . although you have given a good description, the lower rad hose carries cooled coolant so i would think it's the trans cooler but check at autozone or similar
If the motorcraft parts site has their name, location & part numbers
They are avail from amazon cheaper than a dealer
Best if you use professional scanner to look at the data,
but you could change a failed motor if the air flow is not
going where it should & you know which one controls that
Have to buy the factory wiring book from Helm.Com or have a repair shop print the same info but just the parts you need from data base. The APP,ETC,gas pedal whatever name you like is a 3 or 4 switch component & they hardly ever fail,so I would be looking at the factory diagnostic charts to guide you, again need the info & it's never been out there free, someone has the copy rights & can't give it away at a loss
Microsoft office has a good spred sheet but a little pricey to me. quicken has a better system and by name you can pull up a whole history for an individual including what was spent part etc. this is the one i use for my cutomers and its handy for tax purposes
