This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Normally when the injectors are turned off, the car will run for a second or two, and then stall. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY or a picture of a car with a lock through it? Lost all power on a 1996 cadillac deville
Power as in cant crank headlight dont go on? Check the positive part of the battery terminal, and the negative one or both of the cable could of came loose.Also inspect the drive belt,for tension and wear.Now if you lost power while you are driving then that a stall.A stall is something that you loose either spark,air,fuel,without one of these three you will stall.

Idle Air Control System RPM Higher than expected. The computer is detecting an idle speed higher than what it should be. A vacuum leak perhaps...EGR valve, faulty PCV valve, throttle body, EVAP system, idle air controller or circuit. Check for vacuum leaks.

When the car has the crank/no start, at that point see which is missing. Test for fuel and spark. I think it has to do with fuel, a tired fuel pump or relay. But remember to check the oil sending unit. If it fails it will shut down the fuel system.

most likely but the only way to tell is to find where it belongs and put it back .locate a vacume diagram and make sense outta that mess and i'll be impressed or just take it to a repair shop :)

if you look at the pedal for the emergency brahe there is a small lever that will allow you to by-pass the vacuum operated release,check for vacuum at the hose that goes into the release
