2003 ranger imrc connection

Getting p2004 checked hoses on the IMRC and found that the forward vacuum hose had a crack and was disconnected. Now I can't find where to reconnect the forward hose on the IMRC.

are the little plastic bushings still intact on the irmc linkage? the only thing about leaving alone is the light will stay on and you may not have the torque needed if passing or pulling or hauling a load.

P0607 - Control Module Performance Description: Indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) internal central processing unit (CPU) has encountered an error. The PCM monitors itself and carries out internal checks of its own CPU. If any of these checks returns an incorrect value, the DTC is set. Possible Causes:
  • Module programming error

Diagnostic Aids: Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory All Reprogram or update the calibration. Check for other DTCs or drive symptoms for further action.   • IMRC monitor signal circuit shorted to PWR GND or SIG RTN
  • Damaged IMRC actuator or solenoid
  • Blocked vacuum hoses
Diagnostic Aids: Monitor the IMRC and IMRCM PIDs. The IMRCM state should change when the IMRC is commanded open or closed. Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory All GO to Pinpoint Test HU .
P2107 - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Processor Description: The electronic throttle control (ETC) area of the powertrain control module (PCM) failed the self-test. The concern could be the result of an incorrect throttle position (TP) command, or TAC motor wires shorted together. Possible Causes:
  • TAC motor wire shorted together
  • TAC motor circuit wires short to PWR
  • Damaged electronic throttle body (ETB)
  • Damaged PCM
Diagnostic Aids: A TAC motor circuit PID reading may indicate a concern, if available. Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory All GO to Pinpoint Test DV .
B1676 Battery Pack Voltage Out of Range ABS Module REFER to Section 206-09 . U1900 CAN Communication Bus Fault - Receive Error Power Running Board Module REFER to Section 418-00 . U1900 CAN Communication Bus Fault - Receive Error RCM REFER to Section 418-00 .

code p 2004 has two references
intake manifold air control actuator , bank 1 --actuator stuck open====causes ---wiring---intake manifold air control actuator ---mechanical fault
second reference is

Mil comes on with p2004/ check valve stuck open. Where is the check valve located

P2004 - Intake manifold runner control (IMRC) stuck open (bank 1)
Description - This DTC is set when the IMRC is commanded closed, but the IMRC monitor indicated open. This DTC replaces P1518 and P1537.

Probable causes - IMRC monitor signal circuit shorted to PWR GND or SIG RTN
- Damaged IMRC actuator or solenoid
- Blocked vacuum hoses

Diagnostic aids - Monitor the IMRC and IMRCM PIDs. The IMRCM state should change when the IMRC is commanded open or closed.

This control valve generally is located on the back of the intake.

P2004 intake runner stuck open

Intake runners are controlled by vacuum actuators at the rear of the intake manifold (I think it takes a 8mm socket--two bolts for each actuator). First check them both for loose of bad vacuum hoses. You can remove the actuators and see it the runners are free to rotate--perhaps one is corroded and stuck. You can take the air horn off the intake manifold, if necessary, to free the runner; but you may need to buy a new gasket to reinstall. Let us know if you have more questions.
