not scanning the PCM first is the pit fall. act.
to do DIY , one need first, 3things,
  • know what is under the hood, what engine is there.
  • service manua
  • and scan tool
a gen 3 , Eclipse had 3/4 engines choice and are not the same.
2.4 L 150 hp (110 kW) 4G64 I4 (some had 1.8L)
3.0 L 200 hp (150 kW) 6G72 V6
3.0 L 210 hp (160 kW) 6G72 V6
the dead throttle on this car , a non TBW throttle body will never cause dead throttle ever. so is not the TB or TPS sensor. .
if spark is good it is low fuel pressure ,we use a gauge.
bad FPS or pump , FPS is first if pressure is low.
fuel leaking out FPS vacuum-nipplee(sic) , is bad.

or has cam belt slip. the 2 or 3 engine here, all have a timing belt and at 60 to 100k miles it slips and , compression falls even 1/2 normal like 100psi weak. cam timing retardedd(sic)

and caused, huge errors DTC P03xx ,if stored or running
the classic list.
  • bad engine, cam belt slipped, cat melted or EGR stuck open.
  • spark bad, scan it.! always scan it first and check fuses.
  • fuel pressure low or too high, FPR (pump bad , low)
  • bad fuel.
bad MAP sensor. or just clogged up;
or on 2.4L bad MAF, why must helpers guess the engine there, or VIN,google how to read a vIN type it in, see the engine code easy

Time chain points of ford fusion 3.0L?

I need model year--engine code vin to make sure I'm looking at proper info?
Is the single overhead cam or double?
I looked at info 3.0L engine vin u and vin2. With number one piston on tdc of compression stroke, the timing mark on the crank sprocket and the cam sprocket are pointing at each other. On the crank sprocket the mark is pointing up, the cam sprocket mark is pointing down.
If you have a different vin than I posted, the info may be different?

Does a broken timing belt automatically mean bent vales?

No you don't always bend valves typically with 4 or 6 cylinder engines are equiped with free floating engines that when the chains or belts break it allows the engine from creating greater damage to other parts of your engine

Need firing order and, I need to know what side the number one piston is on?

To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement.

The 3.5L (VIN H) engine's unique ignition system has the ignition coils directly over each plug. No spark plug wires are used.
If a coil is replaced on any of the 3.1L, 3.4L or 3.8L engines, it may not be numbered, as is the factory coil. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your guide to reflect how your engine is wired.

Fig. 3.8L (VIN K) engine Firing order: 1-6-5-4-3-2 Distributorless Ignition System

The firing order for the 3.1L VIN M, 3.4L VIN E, 3.4L VIN X and 3.5L VIN H engines is 1-2-3-4-5-6. The right bank cylinders are on the cowl side (rear) of the engine compartment and are numbered 1,3,5, left bank cylinders on the front side of the vehicle, are numbered 2,4,6.
The firing order for the 3.8L VIN K and 3.8L VIN 1 engines is 1-6-5-4-3-2. Starting at the front of the engine, cylinders in the left bank are numbered 1,3,5 and cylinders in the right bank are numbered 2,4,6

The timing belt broke, went to replace it, head crank wont turn

The vehicle has an interference engine. This means that when the piston can hit the valves when not in time. The valves are damaged or bent or shattered . The head or engine most likely is going to have to be replaced.
