Don't know where you came up with this - truck code showing is flash code 79 pcm ? That vehicle does not flash codes - you need to hook up a code reader or scan tool to view DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes P0???
I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado. 2 months ago I noticed I was loosing coolant. But I am not finding it on the ground. Now a valve or something is sticking (ticking). Once the truck warms up or I rev it to 3000 RPMs then it stops ticking. HELP!
You will have to access a 6 digit code out of the radio Theftlock system then still go to a dealership to get the 4 digit code that unlocks the radio. Most people put in a radio code (4 digits) when new then forget it years later when the battery is replaced or radio removed. Press preset buttons #2 & #3 at the same time with the key in run position and radio on. A 3 digit code should be displayed (write it down) then immediately press the AM/FM button, another 3 digit code will appear. Take the 6 digit code to a GM dealer. They will call Delcotronics with the generic 6 digit code and get you the master unlock code for your radio. You can dial it in using the scan buttons (best to ask the dealer how, or get them to do it). Once set you can change it again or write down the master unlock code and keep it somewhere for the next time the battery is disconnected. If you can't access the 6 digit code, you will still need to bring it to a dealership and have it unlocked by reprogramming it. It actually is a module on the data line and can create trouble codes and be programmed. It can not be taken from your truck and used in any other vehicle unless programmed to that vehicle.
You will need to take it to your local dealer for them to pull code and call Delco for the unlock code,This usually takes about 10-15minutes.Make sure they give you the unlock code so you could use it for that radio if you lose power to it .
the dealer is the only place, they may have it on record if the truck was taken there for repairs if not then the radio needs to be remove to get the serial number then go to dealer with id and they will give you the code good luck.
if you have an anti-theft radio option, when you disconnect the battery you disable the radio. there is a code you need to activate so this does'nt happen, but you must do it before you disconnect the battery. by taking the truck to a dealer, he will use the VIN number and the radio serial number to get the reactivation code from the GM tech service computer bank----------just another example of the useless **** GM puts on their vehicles and costs their customers more money and time.
Read the car manual, in the page were it shows the dashboard fuse panel find the radio fuse pull it out and put it back in with the fuse tool. This resets your radio, it did the trick for me with. Just make sure if you disable the radio security lock if it enabled before you pull the fuse. It may lock you out, all the information is in the manual. Good luck and hope this helps.
The pressure to be most concerned with is the reading in gear at idle with engine warmed up...Low end really should not be below 20. If pressure wanders, change the sending unit and check actual pressure with a mechanical gauge if necessary. The age and quality of your oil, as well as temperature all play a part in pressure, as well as internal wear from time & miles of use. If pressure changes with rpm, that is normal. 40psi is good while driving. need more info just ask.
