Do you mean the engine overheat warning? The power steering problem is most likely a defective steering rack, they always act up when hot due to internal seal leakage and fluid bypassing the seal.

no, I found out the bracket broke on the compressor and my friend thinks the bolt broke inside of the compressor. Before my friend got a chance to look at the car, I accidental poured power steering fluid where the red stick not thinking it was the transmission stick located under the hood. Do you think it would of caused the car to smoke? Help

If the belts were soaked with power steering fluid, Yes both are possible.

Nothing on the A/C bracket will cause the car not to turn over. But the A/C compressor can lock up and do that. Possibly the reason the bracket broke. You dumped power steering fluid in the transmission dip stick tube? If it was power steering fluid, then drain it, you transmission will not last long with it in there. Most people use transmission fluid for the power steering. If you did. Depends on how much you put in the transmission. When the transmission gets hot it will blow out transmission fluid from the top. Everywhere. Yes it will get on the exhaust and smoke like a freight train.

The high pressure / low pressure hoses can give out after 120,000+ miles.

Place a cardboard under the car to identify the source of the leak.

My power steering absolutely drops off the face of the planet when I have to turn slowly. I bought STP power steering fluid, but I was wondering if it is a safe product to use for my 1996 Buick Regal with...

power steering fluid is usually transmission fluid, if you use a fluid that is too thin it can cause this problem, the power steering reservoir is under the hood.....hope this helps.....cheers.

Were do I find the power steering cap an transmission fluid cap..

under your hood you will see three fluid reservoirs only two of wich will have twist caps. one is for water and the other is for power steering... the smaller one will be your power steering reservoir. as for the transmission fluid it is to be poured directly into the transmission. there will be a cap or bolt on the top that will need to be removed, after that you will need a long set funnel to reach it. good luck.

My 2003 Buick Regal makes a load whinning sound when I turn. WHat could be causing this?

Hi, it could be a wheel bearing. if you turn left and you hear it it will be your right front bearing and visa-versa. could be the power steering belt that needs replacing, good luck with it.

On the engine? in the car? under the car?

in the reservoir that says power steering fluid only on the cap should be on the passenger side of the car. either down by the power steering pump or up on the inner fender depending on which engine you have.

Lost owner manual for 92 Buick Regal custom-power steering fluid

The reservoir should be located under the hood on the passenger side, above serpentine belt. Guide your eyes backwards towards the mid section of the engine on the passenger side. the small reservoir will have a small turn cap on top. (passenger side off vehicle)

Power Steering Fluid???

The power steering pump is located under the alternator near the firewall. It is hard to get to so you most likely need a funnel with a flex pipe to reach it without making a huge mess. I hope this is helpful.

Power steering fluid

Just went to a dealer today for my 2000 regal. It took them a while, but they showed me where my power steering cap was.

It is black and very hard to see. You need a small flashlight (LED recommended), and then need to look on the left side behind the engine and in front of where the glove box is. WAY down, under some hoses, and adjacent to the engine is the power steering cap (I'd estimate about 8-10" down). The best way to see it is to lean into the engine from the front while standing to the left of the center of the car. Lean forward and place the flashlight pointing down and slightly to the left behind the engine and at a level just below the block. Good luck!!
