2009 Mazda BT50 with new starter motor and battery will not turnover the starter motor 8 out of 10 tries

When trying to start, the stater motor seems lazy at best and more often than not will not turn the motor over. I have renewed the starter motor and battery but there has been no improvement. The motor will at times turn over but then the starter motor appears to lose power as if the battery has died. Nothing happens after that. However if I try to start the vehicle a few hours later it some times starts as if everything is alright. Is there perhaps a rely or similar in the system that needs replacing?????

Check grounds. 3 main ones are battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body. Also check for corrosion at the battery. I have seen corrosion travel in the positive cable 6 inches.

If the starter motor is close to the exhaust and no heat shield then probably starter is getting to hot to work. I had this problem on mine not a Mazda tho, u can either wrap the exhaust which is what I did or get a heat shield to cover stater motor

2009 bt50 wont start intermittent

A common fault with the Mazda BT-50 / Ford Ranger is the ECM. The glowplug light and engine light won't come on. But if you cycle the key many times and those lights come on, the engine will start. In that case, the fault is most likely the engine ECU. The repair is worth approximately $1,200

Why is there No crank no start and what could cause the problem?

Maybe the battery is not giving enough amperage to crank the engine

My 2009 dodge journey won't start, the lights bells and everything else works but all the car does when i try is click

i would check battery connections and test battery. a battery can have a bad cell and run lights but not have enough amps to spin a stater. if everything on battery is good i would suspect a bad starter

Car wont start...battery seems fine....get a loud ticking nose when trying to start....pretty sure its the starter. how can i be sure and is it hard to change?

hello user, did you check the ground on the engine? if that it fine then try to turn the key on and don't start the motor, just disconnect the red wire coupling which goes to the stater and direct connect it to the battery +ve terminal. See if it starts. if it dose he install a selonoid inbetveen the stater and bettery. the problem will be fixed.

My 2002 mazda protege lx refuses to start. The battery is fine, but the engine/stater makes no sound or attempt to start. What is the problem?Could it be a relay, the starter?

If your battery is known to be fine then you probably have a bad starter. You can pull it and take it to autozone and they will test it for free before you buy a new one.

Battry good will not turnover

to check for sure try the following.
1 ensure the vehicle is in N gear position.

switch on headlight and then turn the key. if the lights dim it means that the starter has tried to start and the power of the battery is low thus the lights dim or got out. e.g. the battery is weak and needs charge or replacment.

if ligths stay lit then you most likely have a problem with your starter motor or starter circuit. a tap of the starter motor with a rubber mallet or a piece of 2x4 may dislodge and allow to start. if this is the case you may need a new starter motor,

i hope this was useful

STARTER WONT ENGAGE ONLY CLICKS UNDER HOOD STATER

If the clicking sound is coming from the engine bay, from the relay, you may want to have the starter itself checked out. You need to check if the ground cable from the engine to the chassis is secured. If that is OK, you may want to have the starter motor checked.
