You need a new ignition switch lock cylinder. You must first read the resistance of the key to order this part. It is the little wire embedded in the black plastic near the shank of the key, you need a Digital volt-ohm meter to read it.

Testimonial: "the ignition will not turn over from off position at all it is stuck there and so do u think that it still neddds replaced>?"

That is the reason you must replace it. This will be a job for either a dealer or a locksmith.

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

The wrong key got stuck in the ignition of my 2003 lincoln navigator. Now the right key will not turn over. The ignition is locked

Try turning the steering wheel to the left and the right while trying to turn the key , you may have set the steering lock after installing the wrong key , you may have to turn it kind of hard each way untill the the key turns once it starts you shouldn't have any problems after that.

My wife tried to to start her 2004 cavalier with the wrong key, and now the ignition will not turn with the right key

Hello foxrider.
Chances are when the wrong key was put in it may have damaged the lock tumblers.
The lock cylinders on these cars are enough of a problem using proper keys. Not very well made to begin with.
You could try a very light oil such as WD40 to lubricate the tumblers in case 1 may be stuck up into the barrel of the cylinder and gently run the key in and out several times.
Jiggling the key inside the cylinder will sometimes loosen them up too.
If you do get it working it may be a good idea to replace the cylider and key soon as it may fail you again.
I hope you succeed in getting it to turn, otherwise it may be a job for a locksmith.
Good luck with it.

My key gets stuck in the ignition and my car wont start I have been able to jump it with my clutch

If your key turns to the start position and won't start but will if clutched and you can't turn the key all the way back to get it out, then you need to have your floor shifter cable adjusted. The cable may even needs to be replaced. If your key looks good and not worn or you have tried a new key, you have a tumbler in the lock assembly sticking. You may try a very small amout of dry graphite to see if that will loosen the tumbler otherwise you will need someone see if new tumblers will fix the ignition lock or if you need a new ignition lock assembly. I would think it is most likely the cable though.

Buick Ignition Lock Stuck

It sounds like you bent a tumbler pin.
You might want to try spraying WD40 into it, and trying the key (multiple times)
Otherwise you might just be stuck having to replace the lock assembly.

You might want to try calling a locksmith to see if they can do anything for you.
