My left turn signal recently stopped working. Before ceasing to work, the turn signal (just the left) would blink very rapidly (machine gun speed).

The left turn signal doesn't work from the lever, right signal does, both work when hazard button is pressed. I have also eliminated that the lever multi-switch is not the problem by connecting the pins of the turn signals manually. I am pretty sure the flasher relay works because it turns on when the hazard button is pressed. Any other problematic wires or components?

update: I took off the windshield wipers and the guard for them today because the drains were clogged and while in the car are hit the turn signal switch and well the left turn signal worked (fancy that), but of course it stopped working when everything was back together. did taking the guard off fix it or was it or was just a fluke? I dont know, but I do know this is a wiring problem because all the components (lights, switch lever, relay, fuses)work. Anybody know where such wires or connectors might be?

Sounds like one of light bulbs was malfunctioning and caused the flasher unit to blink rapidly and iy burned out. Replace front and rear turn lite bulbs and see if flasher flashes. if not check fuse and replace fuse. If fuse okay replace flasher unit. Good luck

Testimonial: "thanks but I know its not the bulbs because they work when the hazard buttons pressed, ill double check the fuses again."

Hi

There are various reasons that the turn signals might not be working. First of all check your fuses to make sure none of them are blown; next, check your bulbs. In your case if those are in good condition as you said then it might be your turn signal relay--in many car models these are located around the fuse panel somewhere, although they may not be immediately visible--also check to see if your hazard lights are working--if they are, and your fuses and bulbs aren't burnt it's probably your signal relay (note: there is one for the hazards and one for the turn signals) If your hazards and your turn signals are not working you may have a more in depth electrical problem, or both relays could be blown--however unlikely. One of the last things is look at the actual switch in the driving column that turns on your signals.

You are having problems with grounding issues. Take your turn signals apart and clean the corrosion out of the light sockets. Replace any bulbs that are blackened inside or not clear. When all the light sockets are clean all blinkers should work/flash correctly.

2006 Nissan Altima left turn signal blinks rapidly only when the headlights are on. Otherwise works correctly

Have you installed any LED light bulbs? Sometimes the low current draw of these bulbs makes the controller think a bulb is out, which in older cars would cause the turn signal to blink rapidly. You may try replacing any LED bulb with a standard bulb.
In your car, the speed is controlled by the BCM. So it could be that your BCM is faulty.

The dash board lights and internal lights on my 2002 Toyota Echo did not turn on while driving home tonight. Also, the left side turn signal is flashing rapidly. Is this a blown fuse and wear is it?

The first thing to do for your dash lights is to verify the fuses, if ok check your lights dimmer next. Sometimes, dimmers fail to provide good contact due to wear or poor filament contact. Otherwise, there is a poor connection somewhere.
Usually, a rapidly blinking turn signal is due to a burnt bulb on the side in question or a bad ground connection either in the front or the back of the vehicle. Turn the left signal on and check if front and back turn lights are on and working if one doesn't work check the bulb. If it is poorly lit and not blinking check the socket and ground connection.
Hope this helps you!

My name is Dave, any help would be much appreciated! When I turn on the left or right directional indicator from the lever on the steering column it makes a rapid blinking on the control panel, the front...

Hi, I have a couple of questions.
1. were the signals working before you replaced the brake light bulbs, and did you use the recommended bulbs?
2. Do the brake lights work now?

The brakes and signals use the same filaments, so these things are tied together.

My left & right indicator does not work & does not blink when it's on.. how do i fix it?

There could be several things that will cause your blinkers to stop working. Most will have to be diagnosed by a QUALIFIED automotive electrical shop but there is one thing you can try first. Step one is to turn your blinker stalk rapidly between right and left turn. Don't damage anything, just go back and forth several times real fast. Next, turn your emergency flashers on and off. Rapidly, like you did with the turn signal stalk. Again, don't damage anything, just do it as rapidly as you can, several times. What you are trying to do is clean the contacts inside the switches. Those two circuits work together to operate the turn signal lights and the emergency flashers are rarely, if ever, used and the contacts get a little corroded.

Left turn signal beeps very fast and signal light not working, now is working fine and so is signal light

When your turn signal goes out it tends to blink VERY rapidly before burning out, It's a nice way to let you know before hand that you need to replace the bulb soon.

Fast Blinker

Usually a fast turn signal means that there is a light out. You should probably check all of your lights, including back-up lights, and turn signals. If there is one out then replacing the burnt out bulb should fix the problem.

Turn signals flashing rapidly

This fast flash is caused by a burnt out bulb in the front or rear.
